I joined The Rent Roll to talk through the section 901 fight in the Road to Housing Act and why it has frozen build to rent capital. The conversation covered the original supply agenda, the turn into a forced sell requirement, and the market reaction from lenders, equity, and developers as rules stayed unclear.

My read is simple. This is what happens when policy as designed and policy as built drift apart. Build to rent serves families who need more space and are not ready to buy, and a seven-year disposition rule cuts against that reality. Congress can still fix this. The task is to protect supply, not penalize the homes people can afford.

The conversation belongs to The Rent Roll; the take here is mine.
